The Nostalgic Forward
October Newsletter
Hello Classmates, The first meeting to discuss the possibility of a reunion
birthday party was held back in May, 2002. Since that date the committee
has met a total of 12 times and will get together again on October 14 to
finalize plans for the party. If you have not yet made a reservation, you
still can. We don't want anyone to be left out. Please send your check ASAP
to: Barbara Friedland Greenberg, 1842 Taper Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15241,
made out to: 56 turns 65 Allderdice reunion.
Many activities have been planned to ensure a great weekend for you: Friday
evening Mineo's Pizza and Iron City Beer are offered at Joyce Pearl's home:
6561 Darlington Road hosted by Joyce and Barbara Friedland Greenberg, and
then Klondikes, dessert and coffee, hosted by Judy Feldstein Smalley and
Dick Feldstein at Judy's home 1217 Inverness Avenue will follow. Saturday
afternoon Carole Kochin Wolsh will host a pastry table from 4 to 5 p.m. at
the Hampton Inn for those classmates staying there. On Sunday morning from
9:30 to noon, please join us at Panera's on Blvd. of the Allies and Halket
Street for a dutch-treat breakfast. This is also a good opportunity for those
going to the Steeler game to stop in and say hello. All the details are on
the class website at: http://pong.telerama.com/~joycey/.
Everyone attending the party Saturday night is listed on the website under
the ATTENDING icon. Check back often as we get new reservations daily. Also,
please take a moment to sign the guest book. A CD and photo of the evening
will be available at a cost of $25. Reserve your copy by sending a check
to Sandy Gold in care of Jim Reich, 5869 Marlborough Road, Pittsburgh
15217.
It will also be fun to see pictures from the past, and we already have several.
We plan to display the pictures Saturday evening. Bring a favorite
school/childhood photo to the party or send it in advance to: Rita Weinstein
Seltman, 307 S. Dithridge St. #403, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. If you have a chance,
please enlarge it a bit and laminate.
Even after the party, please keep in touch via this website which we hope
will last indefinitely. We'll get more emails at the party that we can add
to the classmate page. We've found that 95% of you have entered the cyber
era.
Best regards, Your Reunion Committee
